Family Law Section

The Family Law Section of the Idaho State Bar designs and sponsors statewide seminars on timely topics and practice updates. The section meets the second Friday of each month at 12:00 p.m. (MT) at The Law Center, 525 W. Jefferson Street in Boise and via Zoom. Meetings may be hybrid or via Zoom only. Please check email notices for confirmation of location.

Award of Distinction

Each year, the Family Law Section presents an Award of Distinction to a member of the bar, the judiciary, or the public who has provided outstanding service in the realm of family law. Nominations are requested for lawyers, judges, or citizens connected with family law, who have distinguished themselves during their career in the advancement of family law in Idaho. Section membership is not a requirement, though the support of the Family Law Section might well be one of the elements of the nominee’s distinction on behalf of family law.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2024 Award of Distinction. Please submit your nomination via this Nomination Form.  If you have any questions, please direct them Katelynn Mitchell.

2021 Family Law Formbook, 4th Edition

The 2021 Idaho Family Law Formbook, 4th Edition, is now available for purchase. The price is $200.00. To purchase, fill out the Publication Order Form and indicate publication #21-01 and submit with the appropriate payment.

2017 Family Law Handbook, 7th Edition

The 2017 Idaho Family Law Handbook, 7th Edition, is also available for purchase. The price is $100.00 for section members (publication #17-07) and $120.00 for non-section members (publication 17-06). To purchase, fill out the Publication Order Form and submit with the appropriate payment.

2021 Family Law Formbook and 2017 Handbook Combo

The handbook and the formbook are available to purchase as a combo. The price for section members is $250.00 (publication #21-02) and $300.00 for non-section members (publication #21-03). To purchase, fill out the Publication Order Form and submit with the appropriate payment.

Membership dues are as follows:

Standard Membership Dues – $30
Attorneys admitted to ISB less than 5 years – $10
Law Students – $10
