Admissions Ceremony

February 2020 Idaho bar exam results will be released on our website at 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time on Tuesday, April 21, 2020.

Please keep the Admissions Department informed of any address changes so that the confirmation letter and licensing materials can be mailed to your correct address.


Idaho State Bar Licensing Requirements

  • In order to be admitted to the Idaho State Bar, you must submit completed license forms including the License Fee Notice and Trust Account Certificate (active members).
  • Payment of $175.
  • Licensing may be completed online using the New Admittee Online Licensing program or with the paper forms.  Licensing forms and fees must be received by May 1, 2020.

Idaho Supreme Court Admission Requirements

As a result of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Emergency in the State of Idaho, the Idaho Supreme Court entered various orders which stated that congregating outside courtroom doors was discouraged and social distancing inside the courtroom was encouraged.  Therefore, the Idaho Supreme Court will be holding swearing-in ceremonies in several sessions on Thursday, May 7, 2020.  Ceremonies will be held in the Idaho Supreme Court Building Courtroom, with approximately 10 admittees at a time taking the oath.  The sessions will occur at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.   See the following schedule for your appointed time in which to be sworn in.  Please arrive at the Idaho Supreme Court Building 15 minutes prior to the assigned time.

1:00 p.m.         M

2:30 p.m.         N-R

4:00 p.m.         S-Z

Only the admittee will be allowed in the building 15 minutes before the scheduled time for the admittee to be sworn in.  Family, friends, etc., will not be allowed to enter the building. However, each session will be videoed by a videographer.  A copy of the video can be requested and sent to the admittees for viewing by their families and friends.  Send requests to:

In addition, Idaho Public Television will televise each session, and the public can watch each session “live” on the Idaho Supreme Court website at http://www.isc.idaho.gov/appeals-court/isc-calendar.  Then, click on Watch Live! for each particular session.

When you come to the Court, you must have your admission fee ready. The fee may be paid by either a check made out to Idaho Supreme Court in the amount of $25.00, or may be paid in cash; but, you must bring exactly $25.00, as we will not be able to make change for you. 

The Supreme Court will not permit payment via credit card at this time, and the Idaho Supreme Court does not have ATMs.
