Idaho Lawyer Assistance Program Here for You During the COVID-19 Pandemic

ABA COVID-19 Mental Health Resources

Idaho attorneys and judges can experience isolation and stress under normal circumstances due to the nature of our profession. The additional challenges we now face with the COVID-19 pandemic, shelter-in-place orders and lack of in-person interaction with others can be particularly acute for those already vulnerable to substance abuse or other wellness concerns.

It is now more important than ever to remember that the Idaho Lawyer Assistance Program (LAP) provides support for lawyers and judges who experience problems associated with anxiety and depression, in addition to substance abuse.

Idaho LAP focuses on educating legal professionals and their family and friends about the causes, effects, and treatment of depression, anxiety, and other mental health problems, in addition to alcohol and drug dependency. Idaho judges and attorneys volunteer their time to the Idaho LAP to assist those experiencing these issues through the appropriate resources. Idaho LAP volunteers are familiar with the special challenges faced by lawyers and judges and can match those experiencing problems with volunteers in their community who can provide peer assistance and ongoing support.

For more information or for help for you or a colleague, please call (208) 891-4726 or our 24-Hour Hotline at (866) 460-9014. Additional information can be found on the Idaho LAP website linked below.

All information provided to the Idaho LAP is 100% confidential and will not be reported to the Idaho State Bar.
