Idaho State Bar recognizes Pocatello area members at Annual Resolution Meeting

November 9, 2017-Pocatello, Idaho—The Idaho State Bar will be recognizing three of their Pocatello area members during the Annual Sixth District Bar Association Resolution Meeting to be held at the Juniper Hills Country Club (6600 S. Bannock Highway) in Pocatello on Tuesday, November 14 at Noon.

  • Craig W. Christensen of Pocatello will receive the Professionalism Award, given to at least one attorney in each of Idaho’s seven judicial districts who has engaged in extraordinary activity in his or her community, in the state, or in the profession, which reflects the highest standards of professionalism. Christensen’s practice focuses on litigation, banking law and bankruptcy law. He is a graduate of the University of Idaho College of Law and has been practicing in Idaho for 40 years.

 

  • Two individuals will receive the Denise O’Donnell Day Pro Bono Award, presented to the person(s) from each judicial district who have donated extraordinary time and effort to help clients who are unable to pay for legal services.
    • Julian Gabiola with Hawley Troxell Ennis & Hawley LLP in Pocatello spent 100 hours on Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) cases that included guardianships for children, primarily in child protection cases. He also gives Soundstart presentations to groups of young, low-income parents on basic information related to family law issue in an effort to assist at-risk parents in identifying and addressing legal issues before they become crises. Gabiola is a graduate of the University of Idaho College of Law.
    • Anthony Sasser dedicated 25 hours for CASA in a guardianship matter for a child. Sasser with Sasser Law Office is Pocatello attended law school at the University of Idaho. He also is a volunteer coach.
