Financial Specialist
This position performs administrative and accounting work for the accounting department, including detailed accounting duties in accordance with standard accounting procedures. It is responsible for processing vendor invoices for payment, payment of semi-monthly payroll (and related taxes/withholdings), scanning, data entry, and invoicing. The position checks and verifies data for completeness and accuracy; helps maintain a variety of financial transactions and records; and reconciles accounts as part of month-end and year-end close. The position is responsible for processing cash receipts and bank deposits in an efficient and timely manner.
The position requires a high school diploma or GED, but additional training or education in accounting is preferred. Previous accounting and office administration experience is required, including working knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience with Laserfiche and Dynamics GP is preferred. The position requires the ability to hit the ground running, sustain a fast-paced workflow, manage multiple concurrent projects, and maintain strict confidentiality. It requires the ability and willingness to use and adapt to rapidly changing technology as part of an ongoing organizational transformation and to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
This is an on-site position that requires consistent daily attendance during core business hours (8am-5pm) but may have the ability to work remotely one some days once proficiency is attained, subject to the needs of the organization.
