13.0 CLE credits of which 1.0 is Ethics – NAC Approved

Open to attorneys with limited trial experience, typically within the first 10 years of practice

The finest trial lawyers and judges in Idaho are available to assist you in the development of trial skills to be used throughout your career. Take this opportunity to train – or retrain – yourself under the tutelage of experienced trial attorneys with whom you may practice and receive pointers on your litigation performance.

This seminar does not have lectures. Instead, mentors provide examples of effective trial practice and work directly with you to develop the skill. You will observe and then practice skills including voir dire, opening statements, witness examination (direct and cross), authenticating exhibits, impeachment, making objections, and closing arguments. Trial packets and additional information will be sent to participants prior to the seminar. 

*Please note that participants will be required to do some work in preparation before the academy dates.  Course materials will be mailed to you on February 14^th.

The course is limited to the first 64 participants who register so do not delay registering.

*During both days you will experience schedules similar to actual trial conditions.

Lunch will be provided on both days.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Participants should not plan on working remotely or leaving the courthouse during the lunch hours.  Participants should plan on attending the entire session both days to receive the full learning benefits.  Please do not plan to leave early either day.

There will be a few scholarships available so if you are hesitant to register due to the price, please email 2025 Trial Skills Academy Scholarship Request Form.  Please include in your request the reason for your need and any other compelling reasons that the committee should consider.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the nature of this Academy and the preparation that is required by participants, the following cancellation fees will apply to registrations:

Cancellation before February 13^th – $50 Fee will apply

Cancellation after February 14^th – No Refunds will be given
