February 2020 Idaho State Bar Examination

To avoid delays in receiving your packet and potential delays in your admission, it is essential that you keep the Idaho State Bar informed of any address changes. Contact the Admissions Department immediately at (208) 334-4500 if your address has changed.

April 21, 2020: A list of successful applicants will be available on this web page after 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time. Results will also be available by telephone after 3:00 p.m. Callers will be given either a pass or fail response. Please call 208-955-8884 or 208-955-8885 to obtain your results by phone. Confirmation letters will be mailed to all applicants on April 22, 2020. Idaho does not release individual essay scores for successful applicants. After results are released, UBE and MBE scores may be obtained by sending an emailed request to the Admissions Department.

All successful applicants will receive a licensing packet to complete before being sworn in and admitted. You will also be given instructions by email about how to complete your licensing online. You must continue to update your application prior to admission with any relevant information that would change any of the responses or supplemental information in your application. Questions regarding licensing forms should be directed to Annette Strauser, Licensing Administrator, (208) 334-4500.

You can find information about the Idaho Supreme Court’s swearing-in ceremonies on May 7, 2020, and the process for being admitted into the United States Courts, District of Idaho HERE.

Please note that within 12 months of admission to the Idaho State Bar, a new Idaho attorney who has actively practiced law for fewer than three (3) years prior to admission to the Idaho State Bar must complete the New Attorney Program. I.B.C.R. 402(f)(3). The New Attorney Program will be held via webcast only on Tuesday, May 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Mountain Time.  The registration cost has been reduced to $100 if you register by May 8th.  For the course agenda and to register, please click here:  New Attorney Program
