Call for Volunteers to Serve on Idaho State Bar MCLE Task Force

Continuing Legal Education requirements ensure that attorneys in Idaho are maintaining competence in the practice of law and are current and up to date on legal developments and legislative changes. Additionally, mandatory education’s inclusion of an ethical component reinforces attorneys’ ethical and professional obligations and helps avoid attorney misconduct. I.B.C.R. 400.

There has not been a comprehensive review of Idaho’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) rules since 2013. Volunteers on the MCLE Task Force will review Section IV of the Idaho Bar Commission Rules and make recommendations for changes to the Board of Commissioners. This Task Force will meet 4-6 times per year with the goal of presenting recommendations in the summer of 2026, and a resolution containing any amendments being presented to the members of the Idaho State Bar in the fall of 2026.

If you are interested in serving on this important task force, please submit a letter of interest to akostecka@isb.idaho.gov by May 31.
