Online Licensing Renewal

Online licensing renewal is available for current Idaho State Bar members from approximately December 1 through March 1. New Admittee Online Licensing is available on an individual basis as applicants are approved for admission. Please contact the Licensing Department at (208) 334-4500 if you have any questions.

The 2024 licensing packets will be mailed to the current members in late November 2023 and the online licensing renewal portal will be opened at the same time.  The renewal portal will remain open through the March 1, 2024, final licensing deadline. It will be closed for 2024 licensing renewals on March 1, 2024.

The 2024 licensing deadline is February 1, 2024.  Online licensing payments completed after deadline will automatically include the appropriate late fee. Paper payments not physically received in the Idaho State Bar Office by the deadline must be accompanied by the licensing late fee:  $100 for active and house counsel members; $25 for inactive, senior, and emeritus members.  Please note that postmarks do not qualify as meeting the deadline.  The street address for overnight deliveries is 525 W. Jefferson Street, Boise, Idaho 83702. Attorneys who have not paid by mid January are encouraged to use Online Licensing Renewal to avoid the late fee. Questions may be directed to the Licensing Department at (208) 334-4500.

Individual attorneys will be able to complete their 2024 licensing paperwork and pay online by credit card or e-check beginning in late November 2023.  Individual attorney online payments may be made by credit card or e-check. If you prefer to pay by paper check, please use the licensing forms mailed to you.

You will need your Idaho State Bar membership number and licensing password to login. Attorneys who opted out of receiving the paper packet will receive an email with their login information. The licensing passwords for attorneys who received the paper packets are printed on the 2024 license fee notices under the attorneys’ names.  The licensing packets will be mailed in late November 2023.

If you have questions, please contact Licensing at (208) 334-4500.

Firms can collect their attorneys’ information and make a single payment by credit card or check. The firm online licensing portal provides a breakdown of the fees by attorney and payment category along with calculating the total payment amount. This option allows firms to complete the licensing process with minimal paperwork and staff time.

The firm administrator will need to create a user account for creating the list of attorneys and will need the attorneys’ licensing passwords. Attorneys who opted out of receiving the paper packet will receive an email with their passwords. The licensing passwords for attorneys who received the paper packets are printed on the 2024 license fee notices under the attorneys’ names. The licensing packets will be mailed in late November. The Licensing Department at (208) 334-4500 can also assist with licensing passwords.

To help navigate the online firm licensing process, please print a copy of the Online Firm Renewal Guide before beginning the process.
