Idaho County is currently accepting proposals/resumes from qualified, licensed attorneys for the position of Public Defender under a 2 year contract. Demonstrated experience in the following areas is required: felony, misdemeanor and juvenile criminal matters, child protection causes, mental holds, guardianship/conservatorship and contempt matters. Applicants must meet the Idaho State Public Defender Standards within one year of implementation. The current budget for Public Defender services includes $125,000 for base pay, plus a contingency for hours worked in excess of 50 hours (per case). Additionally, the budget includes separate line items for expenses and secretarial support staff. Application deadline is October 7, 2016.
