Idaho Lawyer Benefits Program

ALPS, in partnership with the Idaho State Bar, has developed the Idaho Lawyer Benefits Program. A health benefit program designed to meet the long-term needs of Idaho lawyers and their employees.  As a member of the Idaho Bar you are entitled to apply for participation in the plan. (ALPS): The Attorneys Liability Protection Society, Inc., a Risk Retention Group provides a full range of professional liability insurance for law firms and solo practitioners. It was started, and is still owned and operated, by attorneys and for attorneys.

Other Insurance

In 1994, the Board of Commissioners approved the Bar Group Insurance Standards developed by the Bar Group Insurance Committee.  Basically, if an insurance company agreed to the standards it would receive the ISB’s endorsement. Two companies agreed to the standards and to provide insurance at reduced rates to ISB members.

Lawyer Assistance Program

The Idaho Lawyer Assistance Program (LAP) is set up to help and support lawyers who are experiencing problems associated with alcohol and/or drug use or mental health issues. The program also focuses on educating legal professionals and their family and friends about the causes, effects and treatment of alcohol and drug dependency, depression and mental health problems. Confidential support is available by contacting 1-800-386-1695.

Mentor Program

The Idaho State Bar, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Litigation Section of the Idaho State Bar invite you to join the Mentor Program. The program is designed to assist new lawyers in the transition from law school to a successful law practice.
