Discipline Records

Attorneys may request a discipline history by submitting a written authorization to Bar Counsel’s Office, by mail or email, indicating where they wish the discipline letter to be sent.  There is no charge associated with this service.  Response time is usually within 7 days of the request.  Please send requests to:

Under Idaho Bar Commission Rule (I.B.C.R.) 522(b), all records related to a grievance terminated under I.B.C.R. 509(b)(1) are destroyed after five years from the date of termination and after a file has been destroyed, our response is there is no record of the matter.  Moreover, under I.B.C.R. 522(b) any lawyer may answer any inquiry requiring a reference to a destroyed matter by stating no grievance was filed.  I.B.C.R. 509.
