Legal Intern Qualifications

(Please see IBCR 221 for more complete explanation of the legal intern qualifications.)

  • Duly enrolled, in good academic standing, and have completed two-thirds of the prescribed course of study at an ABA approved law school; or
  • Graduated from an ABA approved law school within the past 12 months; or
  • Graduated from an ABA approved law school, a member in good standing of the Bar of another state and have applied to take the next available Idaho State Bar Examination.

Reciprocal admission applicants do not qualify to be legal interns under the IBCR 221.

Applicants who have failed three or more Idaho Bar Examinations are not eligible for a legal intern limited license.  Applicants who have failed one or two Idaho Bar Examinations must supplement their application with the additional information as stated in Idaho Bar Commission Rule 221(0) (1).
